[Rhodes22-list] sailing: weather: NWS??

Can someone explain to me the logic of the National Weather Service?  
I've been watching the weather around Edenton
for the last few weeks and this morning the land area in easternmost NC 
was covered in bright magenta or more like
hot pink, indicating a Red Flag Warning.  So I clicked on that area to 
get the forecast.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK:
RED FLAG WARNING:
Today: Sunny and breezy. Wind 15 to 20
Tonight: Clear, wind 10 to 15
Thursday: Sunny, wind 10 to 15
yada, yada,
not until Saturday is there a chance of thunderstorms.
WTF? over?
