Don't let Ed run you off. 

He does not own the list, and occasionally exceeds the
bounds of polite conversation.  We tolerate him because
he minds his tongue most of the time, is generally
amusing if a bit rambunctious, and often offers hilarious
political positions.

And underneath it all, he seems like a decent guy.
