Guys:

You have awoken the slumbering Rummy on this subject.  Twice now you have
been given his recommendation, specifically WD-40, the redneck cureall.  

The fabric softener sheets have been mentioned on other lists over the
years, so there must be something to it.

Another related product not yet mentioned is 'Febreze'.  Another fabric
sofener that comes in a spray bottle from you local supermarket.  Shimmy up
the mast and squirt.

And several years ago when we had similar discussions, this site was
mentioned:
