Alice,

I'll be interested to hear what responses you get. You have been way more
agressive than I have with a similar problem. We got ours from Stan in
April. Engine seemed to run fine. However, I note that on mine, the
throttle will only go perhaps to 1/4 throttle in neutral - just won't go any
higher, and hasn't since I got it - I thought that was normal. Anyway - as
you did, I added about 1.5 gallons of gas to perhaps the 2 left in the tank;
put in the additive recommended for gas with ethanol. It ran fine for one
trip, now won't start at all. The starter runs, but engine never cranks.

I'm having the marina look at it this week as they have the same motor on
one of thier work boats they use for pushing boats around the marina.

While I don't think it is at all related, should I be flushing the motor
with freshwater somehow after each use. I know it isn't plugged - water
still runs out the port fine when the engine runs. But I have seen the
"earmuff" brackets at West Marine and Boaters World that supposedly will
permit this flush.
