Hmm, those rascals aren't cheap, but they look like they would work
better than nails.  I'll have to measure and see if one of these will

Looks to me that a ball-lock quick release pin would look a whole lot
better.

Finally got some photos.  Two of the photos (boom slider and boom slider
1) shows how my standard mast boom gooseneck connects the boom to the
slot in the mast.  And yes, those are regular ol' nails that serve as
stoppers to hold the boom in the desired location.  The third photo (pop
top slider) shows how the pop top brackets attached to the pop top
slider.  I use the same nail-through-the-holes technique to hold the pop
top up.  Not the most desirable method, but that's what the PO used and
it works.  Anyone got a better method to keep the boom and pop top in
place on a standard mast? - rob
