[Rhodes22-list] Standard Mast PT slider

Rob,

Thanks for the pictures. Here's a thought - one possibility for an alternate would be a sailstop, which is available at West and slides into position along the sail track and tightens with a round nut. Page 433 of the West catalog shows cable ties of different sizes, which could be fastened to a sailtop, which would present a horizontal hole, side to side, for the pop-top bolt. These ties, metal with rubber 'gasket' are normally screwed to the bulkhead. There might be a better fixture than these wire guides to fix to the sailstop, just haven't looked enough yet. The PT bolt is quite long, so you would probably want a short length of vinyl tube on each side to keep the front of the PT from sliding/shifting along the bolt when it is in the up position. My slider is getting pitted and corroded, so this how I will probably replace it. Where are the described 'pricey' fixtures found?

Hope this can help - tell me if you find better options.

Chow
