[Rhodes22-list] Ben on pfd's...

Ben:

I am not questioning 'Practical Sailor'. What I said was that Mustang made
and probably still makes the inflatable for the Navy flyers. Then Robert
said that Mustang paid off to get the contract. I contend that the Navy
most likely fairly evaluated the device and set a high standard for the ones
it uses. The Navy is not a bunch of crooks as Robert implied.

What I was suggesting is that Mustang came out highly rated because they
make highly rated PFD's for the navy and the expertize comes out in the over
the counter product (which may be the same).

The comment that I obect to is ""Wasn't there at the time. Dunno who paid,
got drunk, or slept
with who." Which to me says Mustang did those things to get the contract.
I am not saying that what he said may not be true, but without supporting
facts, such a statement implies corruption on the part of those who made the
contract.

Actually, 'Practical Sailor', proved the contract good and valid.

Thank you Elle for the explanation of 'flotation device'.
