[Rhodes22-list] Sail Purchase

Last summer the UV cover ripped away from my old 175 genoa. Having the
older
GBI furler I could not change the sail without lowering the mast, which
motivated
me to live with it through the season. My plan is to replace the GBI
furler with
the CDI furler this winter.

My question is which new genoa I should buy. The old 175 was heavy and
did not
perform well in light winds. It lost a lot of shape when furled.
I bought a UPS sail a few years ago and that works for lighter wind days.
I also have a C-22 110 (? I am not really sure of this sail) with
a luff rope for the CDI so I can use that for high wind days although,
frankly I probably would not bother to change sails unless really necessary.

The question is whether I should go back to the 175 or go to a 155 ?
It seems to me that a 155 would furl more efficiently
than the 175, and on days where more sail is needed, I could use the UPS.

any thoughts?

Ron
