We have a community in the DFW area that just southwest of DFW airport.
Before the airport was built, the community was basically headed for
slumsville. When the airport came in, it brought business, and those
businesses brought folks to that small city. The city grew towards the
airport, where house prices were progressively higher, and yes,
eventually the complaints began about the noise from the airport. I just
sat back and laughed.

Folks is funny.

One thing I've noticed about most people when they want standards to
"maintain property values" - things like not having a boat parked on the
property next door. Usually, the individual wishing for the standard
wants what they have to be the minimum standard.
