[Rhodes22-list] More crabbing

Robert,

When you come out of the crab and transition to a slip you induce more
drag. On big airplanes you add power to overcome the extra drag (the
auto-throttles do this for you) or you can use the common little airplane
technique and carry more speed to begin with, allowing the increase in drag
to bleed off the additional speed during the slip. Carrying additional
speed in a large airplane always comes with a penalty (because of the
physics I've long since forgotten - square of the air, heat of the meat,
something like that). Every airplane has a published max allowable
crosswind limit which is a compromise between, aerodynamics, structural
tolerances, and legal counsel. Mostly its legal counsel.
