[Rhodes22-list] Mike W's, and others replies to the Energy Crisis

It's a legacy from the "do for myself" attitude in the US. Nothing wrong 
with those that want the government to provide for them, as long as 
they're not trying to change ours into that.

Of course, it may be a moot issue, we're way down that road right now.

However, our founding fathers never intended for the nanny state you're 
envisioning. I don't want MY government guided by "morals", they're 
subject to change. I want my government to allow individuals to succeed, 
and count on the morals of those individuals to do the rest.
