[Rhodes22-list] Location for Installing a Fire extinguisher

Caesar,

We mounted our fire extinguisher on the port side of the cabin, just inside
on the bulkhead that separates the cabin from the cockpit, alongside the
companionway door, next to the poptop support. On our '81 R22 there is a
substantial piece of plywood (3/4", I think) between the two fiberglass
panels, giving us a good way to secure the holder to the inside fiberglass
panel. We felt that this would permit us to use it if trapped in the cabin
to get out or to easily retrieve it from the cockpit in the event of an
engine fire. Just make sure that the mount is high enough off the cushion
so that it doesn't interfere with sitting or sleeping. Also, look for
interference and clearance from the poptop support.

Hi Rhodies,
I am looking for a great place to install a fire extinguisher in my Rhodes
22.
Any suggestions? Where are yours installed?
Thanks,
Caesar
