Slim, If you make it any where near St. Louis I will buy you a frosty Cold Budweiser.  There are a lot of people who try to sail the Miss around here and all have the same complaints.  Spring currents are fast and there are Bluffs on one shore line or the other causing the wind to either go straignt up or down stream.  Let me know if I can help - plenty places to park a trailer if you get that adventurous.
