Tom

Welcome aboard! I also sail on LIS out of Grass Island/Greenwich Harbor.
With wind and chop my old Mercury (1980's) 6 HP is OK, but 8 HP would be
better.
I do not have remote controls and find the FNR combo on the throttle to be
an acceptable compromise.
There is no 12V output for charging, and with 30W of solar panels, I need to
charge the battery twice per season, which is a pain as the boat is on a
mooring, so I have take the battery out and drag it home. There is no power
available to me at the municipal marina where I could leave the battery
overnight.

See you on the water!
