The sailing was great today, hull speed any which way!

Since we have a lot of experience out there on the topic of outboard motors,
I wanted to pass my choice of ob motor by the list in the hopes of
confirming my choice.

I have a 16' dory, fiberglass lapstrake hull rated for a max of 20 HP. The
idea is to put on a 20 hp Honda 4 cycle with remote steering. After reading
about Mary Lou's probs, is a Yamaha a better choice to avoid salt corrosion?
How about the Tohatsu, which is a lot cheaper. I have had good luck with
Mercury, but don't want black.

It is not possible to flush the motor with fresh water after each use as the
public marina is pretty bare bones. The stink pot will be used for short
hops to the local islands, fishing, dragging the kids through the water
on water toys, and above all to get to the mooring where s/v Carmen hangs
out.

The second choice would be a used 2 stroke, but I prefer a nice quiet 4
stroke in silver.

Gimme a hand here motorheads
