Subject: [Rhodes22-list] new boat owner outboard question

Well, my day finally came with Elton delivering my new Rhodes 22 to
Herrington Harbor in Deale Maryland. I had been waiting a long year for
this day to come. It was a long day and Elton was great providing
advice
on docking line, bumpers, we walked through all the aisles of West
Marine
and then spent a few hours going through the mast raising sequence and
finally launching and motoring to her slip. I took her out on a shack
down
sail yesterday, bright sunshine and warm weather with gusty wind.
Everything worked great including the need to furl as blustery
conditions
came and went. My boat includes a 8 hp Yamaha with tiller control and
electric hoist system. I have not found an owners manual on board for
the
engine, Elton and I didn't talk much about the motor and have a few
questions. I am pretty sure this is a 4 stroke outboard.

1. Do I need to mix oil with the gasoline?
2. Is regular gas better than super? Low level or medium level octane
preferred?
3. I think this outboard comes with a fresh water flush system and I
think
it is a good idea to flush the system after each use with a hose dock
side?
4. Is it a good idea to run the engine dry, take off the gas hose and
let it
run out?

These are some basic questions as a new boat owner, thanks in advance
for
any input.
