we already sent you (along with other goodies) another cowling so send the 
worst one back

the real way to really solve a rain leak (notice we cleverly omit rain leaks 
form the guarantees) is to back off on the nuts and remove (or in this case 
raise) the hardware part and put sealant around the fastener -But then only 
lightly set it back in place until the sealant gels to from a gasket. 
Otherwise you re-tighten and just squeeze out the sealant.   This way you do 
not do a finally tightening until the sealant has set to form a gasket. 
Keep us posted.

the enclosure has not arrived but the refitting probably makes it worth the 
delay. but you can start using the ice box when your care package arrives in 
a few days.
