[Rhodes22-list] Outboard Recommendations

When my old Mariner 2 stroke died I needed an inexpensive solution
very quickly. My R22 was at the ramp ready to launch for the season.
My solution is a 4 stroke/5 hp Briggs & Stratton outboard. Yes, it
sounds like I am mowing the lawn, but in 3 seasons it has been trouble
free & very reliable. Think about how good their lawnmowers are. Plus
it costs only $800 brand new w a 2 year warranty! Weight is 54 lb. I
have not found it lacking in power to push through wind & waves in
coastal conditions in Quincy & MA Bays. It is not Honda quiet, but is
an improvement over the old 2 stroke whine.
