[Rhodes22-list] cockpit table post holder

Linda,

You might post a snapshot of the crack, some of us might have a smart remedy. Good news is that according to Michael and Stan, the cockpit sole is entirely fiberglass, no core, so earlier concerns that the outcome of cracks could be a rotted and weak cockpit floor are apparently unfounded. There is still, however, a call for boat covers for birds, dirt, ice or water in the boat.

Rob posted a good link to a recessed post receptacle for those who didn't see. My preference is still the raised receiver. I am going to make a smaller cockpit table top for cockpit or cabin use, anyone have ideas for the shape? I'm thinking <18" wide, maybe 24" long, on a shorter post which will not interfere with the tiller. BTW, the 2"ID PVC pipe available from HD will work as a post if the ends are jigsaw sliced a few inches to permit a flexure and taper into the mount.

Have a good day, Linda,

Art
