Rob,

Yeah, the perspective from Muireann's deck was quite different. My Admiral
and I were not staring up at the bridgework to admire it! We really
couldn't tell whether we were about to customize the mast or not!

John has been kind enough to not point it out, but we were unable to return
the favor of photographing his boat due to "operator error", namely my
leaving my camera on my desk at home. Another time, John!

I will say that the Allegheny Reservoir winds keep one guessing. Thankfully
John did not capture on "film" (or at least had the courtesy not to share
with you all) the scene where I chased the wind clean around in a circle as
it shifted. I suggested to John that he come up to Cleveland and we can
have a rematch with Lake Erie's somewhat more constant winds powering us.
That and there is at least one R22 berthed in Cleveland, namely Blue Heron.

I will say the Rhodes made the trip fun. We were vacationing with former
colleagues of my Admiral from her SOHIO days (yeah, just picture a half
dozen slightly drunk chemical engineers around a camp fire ...). They were
in tents. And Muireann was just like a tent .... except we slept on nice
foam cushions on the converted dinette, .... and except we had a swell head
right "in the tent" .... and except we had running water right "in the tent"
... and except we had a lovely back porch to enjoy the evening air that
didn't have mud under it ... and except our stove was right "in the tent".
Now, the land campers did have the edge when it came to a camp fire though!

As John said, our boats were well matched on a reach, but Muireann's sail
rig and new sails gave her the advantage upwind. She seemed able to point
higher and steadily walked away from John's Rhodes.
