I beg to differ. It was NOT dead. He had just posted it. I didn't 
respond to it days later, I responded to him as it came up.

The issue of civility is far from "dead", at least in the minds of
some 
of us. I say it is NOT civil to say "good riddance" to Brad being
gone. 
He had friends on here. I'm sure even some of the folks that don't like

him feel the same way.

As far as "back channel" discussions, you do not get to dictate to me

where I post a message. I did not start a conversation with you, I 
responded to a post. You directed a response to me, not "back
channel", 
but here on the list, so that's where I responded. Had you sent it back 
channel, that's where I responded. In the schoolyard the teacher gets to 
blow the whistle and tell the kid "I'll see you after class";
however, 
we're not in a schoolyard, and I'll ignore the weird kid who thinks 
she's in charge, and just keep playing.
