[Rhodes22-list] My new old bootleg R22

Thanks to everyone who answered my query. And especially to Yaron Fuchs, who kindly invited me to inspect his R22, and then took me for a sail to show how sweet the boat is to operate!
So what is the story of the R22 molds? Were they ever in unauthorized hands... what might make the boat a knock off? I did indeed buy her from a Hudson River sailor. I know my boat has everything in all the right places, less the benefits of developmental innovation Stan and General have imbued her modern siblings. My v-berth is all flotation, no storage. I haven't found a place to put the battery forward yet. Lazarette compartment has a motor mount in it. Evidently, a short shaft motor could extend just shy of the shoal keel depth (this may be a very good idea). The porta pottie cutout is there. My sink is still there, but someone removed half the counter where the stove goes and put a seat. (I kind of like that, it feels more like a nav station) Someone also made a square cutout in the forward bulkhead . There are no shelves along either the v-berth or pop top, and I am loath to figure out an anchor locker. I know the centerboard was
replaced with an Ida Sailor model, and the original jib and furler are lost, replaced by a hank on jib.
