[Rhodes22-list] Hand held GPS

I have, and hope to learn to use the Garmin Oregon, similar to the Colorado.
I read the review on the 76 and liked it, but it won' t interface with my
computer for downloading waypoints. I am using a small GPS module that
connects to my laptop via bluetooth, and interfaces with my MAC-ENC
software. I already owned the laptop, the GPS unit costs about $30 and the
wonderful MAC-ENC was about $150. So instead of a 6 inch gps screen for
$1200, I get to use a 17 inch screen on an old computer. The problem is
that the laptop stays inside the cabin only. Setting a course was
remarkably easy, executing that course in our weekend traffic was
rediculous. Learning to navigate is fun.
