[Rhodes22-list] yamaha 9.9 trouble

Ben, it sounds like a similar problem I had my first year with my
Yamaha 9.9. I finally had to bite the bullet and have a good mechanic
clean the jets. You might luck out by using fresh gas (one mechanic
told me this year that with the new ethanol mix we should use fresh
gas every week) and just running the motor until the clean gas
dissolves the crud.

I only use the tiller-motor linkage in the marina for tight turns and
damage avoidance. The boat steers much easier with the motor locked -
much less strain on everything.

Are you saying your engine case has actually cracked, or you're
worried it might?
