[Rhodes22-list] Is This IMF Rattling & Shaking Normal

Dave,

Same set up from last year.  I have not done any work or adjustments to the IMF.  It's just as it came from Stan, perhaps a little slack.

You are correct; the cables in the mast do rattle, depending on the boat's angle to the wind, and this has been the case from day one.

Now I can observe the sail and spar that it is folded on, moving and rattling as the head hits the inside of the mast.  I will be doing some detective work after I lower the mast in a few days, but am looking for anyone who may have had this situation, or have ideas as to what I might need to tighten.

BTW we had about 8'' of snow here yesterday.  Winter seems reluctant to go.

Caesar, is it the same set up you had last year, or did you restep the
mast?  Are you sure it's not the power / coax cables bouncing inside
the mast?  If so, there is a post from Rummy in the archives with a
fix involving foam pipe insulators.
