I have a new Yamaha 8 HP that GB provided for my 2009 R22. I have been out
about five times in the past few weeks including some pretty windy
conditions. I find the 8 hp long shaft with the power thruster provides
plenty of power even at about half throttle. I was disapointed when Stan
told me that the 9.9 tiller mounted remote was not longer available but have
been quiet pleased with the motor mount tiller. As Mike notes the captian
seat is a convenient place to sit and control the throttle. I think the 9.9
would have been more power than I need and I like having a clean tiller to
the rudder and fewer lines to wory about.
