hello

On Toy Blew I replaced the rode tray with a piece of plywood with a
circle the size of a 5 gallon bucket cut in it. The buckets sits in the
hole under the air scoop. I ran the rode through the vent to the inside
of cabin and tied a 3 or 3 1/2' dia. metal ring to it. That way if all
the rode is let out the end will be stopped by the ring which won't fit
through the vent. The depth of the bucket allows the rode to flay
itself in the bucket. This has worked well for us. I still usually
deploy the anchor I have in the cockpit. The anchor in the cockpit is a
28 lb. navy style anchor (works like a danforth style but is cast iron,
covered with vinyl coating.) It seems to hold very well with no
"planing" issues. It is a chore to pull in though.
