[Rhodes22-list] Newbie Rhodie: Jim

Thanks for the welcome.  The boat is in great shape for its age and price.  I
had looked at one before I found this one and the hull was shot as well as
the keel box.  So when this one appeared in my price range (<5k) and the
hull was sound I jumped at it.  The owner had replaced the keel box and done
a lot of work on it.  On top of that, he allowed me and some friends to come
up to NY and paint the bottom in his yard - and fed us lunch while we were
there!  

I had it hauled down, bought a used outboard motor, put it in the water and
sailed it on the river last week.  I expect to make improvements as I go
along - especially to make it easier to single-hand - but I am ready to go.
