[Rhodes22-list] Need for Speed

I have to confess that my point of sail was a broad reach.  I agree with you
that it is challenging to get much boat speed close hauled with lots of wind
and a manageable amount of sail out.  My goal this year is to get more
comfortable with high wind conditions.  I tended to be somewhat reluctant to
head out for a weekend trip when winds were predicted to be in the 15-20kt
speed.  My sail last week was quite comfortable putting out just a bit of
sail however I think a big difference is the SW wind made for very little or
no sea to contend with.
