Hi Steven,

I hear what you are saying, but the 1970's boats seem much lighter (in the
2000lb range, and the distance from here to the lake is 3-5 miles.  I will
upgrade the tow vehicle in the next 2 years or so, but I think that I can
make it until then.

We are looking at this as a day sailor.  There is nowhere near enough $$ for
a boat that is quote "big enough" for our family.  Even my friend's 32'
Valient is cramped quarters for a family of 6.  The process of finding a
boat is all about compromises, and limiting ourselves to mainly daysailing
is an easy one since my wife really has little desire to sleep on the boat.
