[Rhodes22-list] Inflatable

Hey Bob,
We have a bottom of the line dingy with a hard transom. Seems to me
it cost about $250. It was on par with the Sea Eagle in quality. I looked
for a good used West Marine (smallest) dingy but no luck in the time frame
we had. I like the idea of the kayak plus it should tow with little drag.
Should be no problem stowing it in the laz or under the seats. Trying to
remember where you sail, that might influence the type of kayak and how
often you might use it. I had a high quality slatted, roll up, small dingy
when I was in the Bahamas it was great and lasted 10 years, including a lot
of river rafting (mostly just 2's and 3's). In the Bahamas with the
currents and winds I really regretted not having a little 2 or 3 hp motor.
I may regret not having a motor this summer in the San Juans, though last
summer was no problem, we shall see.

Chris,

Was wondering what you had for an inflatable? I had a Sea Eagle small
inflatable and it was just OK but it got a leak that I couldn't fix so I
finally trashed it. I am thinking about getting a Sea Eagle two person
kayak because it is smaller and lighter than the previous one I had and
should be easy to row being a kayak. I also want to be able to store it in
the laz or perhaps lash it to the stern rail and drag it behind. Any
thoughts on this would be appreciated because I have not found the ideal
solution yet.
