[Rhodes22-list] Main sail clew shackle

Hi Everybody. I'm having an issue with the shackle that holds the main sail
clew to the car on the boom that's connected to the outhaul line. In other
words, the line I use to unfurl the main sail. The pin came loose and the
main sail was then no longer attached at the clew to the outhaul mechanism.
Luckily, this occurred while the boat was docked and the sail was furled
into the mast. I'm sure the pin was close to opening after a recent sail and
the windy weather at the dock forced it to come off completely. The shackle
isn't what I'm used to. The pin doesn't screw into the body of the shackle.
To reinsert the pin I needed to squeeze the shackle with a pliers and then
insert and turn the pin to what looks like a locking position.

I did this and then went for a sail. Upon returning to the dock I noticed
that the pin was again turning out of its locking position and so I've reset
it again.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Has anyone replaced this shackle with a
standard shackle that has a screw-type pin?

Thanks, Geoff
