[Rhodes22-list] chain plate replacement

After unsuccessfully searching the archives I wanted to ask if anyone has
replaced a lower chain plate. The boat is an '86 recycled in '06 and the
starboard front lower chain plate which has an 'L' shape broke and pulled
out of the fiberglass cabin top. A quick look at the inside of the boat does
not reveal an easy way of dropping the headliner. Any advice or experience
from someone who did it?

Full disclosure - the boat was knocked over in a local intense thunderstorm
on the mooring. The salvor tore the chain plate out when the rigging caught
on his boat as it became buoyant during the operation. The chain plate
itself did have crack in it already, which was evident due to rust on the
internal face of the crack.
