[Rhodes22-list] Was Need route advice/Now: decided

thanks everyone for all the route advice.

I've decided to go the southern route. Even if there is trafffic through the Hampton Roads area, it is less distance for traffic than the much greater distance of 301in MD. Plus, 'way fewer lights if I go over to West Point & get on 64 there. the beauty of the southern route is that on the return trip, if I'm really tired after getting up before dawn for three days in a row, I can stop at a friends' house & take a quick nap before the last hour of the trip.

Let's hope the weather will be favorable for spectacular photos!

I'll post anything that I think turned out nice.

Rob, Thanks...my particular concern is the 6-9 time period.....I need to be in Chincoteague by 11:30 AM. I would prefer the southern route but have been told by a friend who lives in Portsmouth & works at the ship yard that AM traffic is terrible & to go the northern route. I would prefer the Bridge/Tunnel route as it is shorter mileage -wise......

AARGH.

All this just for PIX.

Did anyone like the Skyline Drive photo ? Did it come out too dark? It should have layers of stuff from near to far. It wasn't just for Chris...;^)

Elle

I've done that trip both ways before.

Once you are on the DelMarVa peninsula, it is a beautiful ride regardless of
what route you take.  My preference is the Norfolk route.  I've sailed out
of Kiptopeke State Park back when I used to own a MacGregor V21.  It is a
neat place just across the bay bridge as you enter the bottom of the
peninsula.  You might want to take that route so you can check out the state
park for a future sailing adventure.
