[Rhodes22-list] loose chainplate

I cut out about a 2" square of top Fiberglas. I then scraped out all of the rotted wood and replaced it with a block fitted to the opening with a slot for the chain plate. I epoxied and screwed the block in with a washer in the cabin liner. Not real pretty, but it works.

If it's just loose you may want to seal around it real well to prevent additional water intrusion. Replacing it entails cutting into the cabin liner. I'm not a epoxy guy, but perhaps there is a way to drill holes and inject epoxy into the area to secure it a bit. There is very little strain on that stay, so it's not critical to the operation of the boat. But a loose chain plate indicates the plywood is probably rotting or the screw holding the chain plate is rusting. - rob
