Joe,

3 Rhodes in Greenwich Cove in old Greenwich Ct were "attacked" by a microburst 2 weeks ago. 2 had masts stuck in the mud (or driven in by the current/tide - the event happened at low tide) and had to be retrieved by our mooring contractor and hauled out by a salvager. My boat was knocked down but righted itself eventually - no one knows how long that took. Damage varied - all had cabins submerged so wiring and cabin sole shot. Damage to rigging varied - mine seems ok. Poptops, Laz tops, hatch covers, etc., on some boats were gone. Motors were submerged to varying degrees for varying lengths of time. The insurance adjusters are busy.

It buried the mast on the mud (river is only about four feet at the marina). They had to wrench it out. A surveyor now believes that the mast and plate are a total loss. We're gonna get a second opinion on that. Marina mechanic believes he can salvage all. Has anyone else had similar experience? Thanks.
