[Rhodes22-list] I'm wet (with a twist)

My rule of thumb is to use 3M 4200 for everything EXCEPT the real important
stuff below the waterline, for which I use 3M 5200. I figure that the
lifespan of a new nylon thru hull fitting, a quality vinyl hose and two
stainless clamps should be at least 25 years, so the more permanent 5200 is
fine. Let the next owner worry about removal, at least it will never leak
due to shrinkage or be damaged by salt water.

My cockpit drain fitting was bedded in goopy silicone adhesive. Its ugly
and excessive. This isnt standard is it? I should replace with 3m 5200
shouldnt i?
