[Rhodes22-list] Fwd: water in the bilge

Bilge water update.
The hose from the sump pump actually runs under the seat on the port side
all of the way to the stern and exits through the hull. Same sort of exits
as the other cockpit drains. MYSTERY SOLVED on that one. Thanks All for the
input.
Still puzzled about the water entering the bilge and the area under the
floor of the head. Still taking in water. I asked an owner of a NICE Catboat
and experienced sailor his opinion. He suggested lowering the dagger board.
The thought was that maybe water pressure was forcing water
past old and worn gaskets. The thinking was that lowering the board would
fill the channel and at least slow the water intrusion. So accepting this
advice I did just that. Trial and error at this point.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Should one always lower this board
after launching even if you are in a slip?
I am most appreciative of your opinions and input.
Thanks!
