David:  Your presumption is correct.  It is not a difficult job but a bit time consuming.  Remove as much "stuff" as you can so that you don't find yourself doing double duty.   Lots of screws so have a container or two to put them in with some labeling.  An electric screw driver will simplify the job.

Last post for today.

Here is a shot of our bilge.  You can see the top of the centerboard
access.  I presume we have to dissassemble the step into the cabin and
drawer below if you wan to access this fully to replace the line to raise
and lower the centerboard......

This might be helpful to others.......
