[Rhodes22-list] Dinghy Selection

We bought a two-person inflatable kayak from REI for expressly that reason. Folded up and stowed under the bow it will put some weight forward underway. It's more luggable than portable and set up takes a bit of work so I don't envision a lot of spontaneous in and out usage, but rather on overnight trips at a mooring, that sort of outing.

The performance of the kayak is marginal compared to a solid body kayak and I'm sure we need to get better at getting the pressure right. But fun for paddling around and more than adequate for getting to and from a mooring.

Unfortunately our boat got totaled this year before we got to use it other than to paddle around the harbor. Maybe we'll use it to go diving for captains chairs and other lost parts...
