[Rhodes22-list] Bow Chocks

Graham,

Now I know I suffer from user-error. I didn't even consider fiberglass
damage.

To compensate for daily and more important, seasonal tide fluctuations; my
lines are tied as close as possible to be horizontal during mean tide, so
they rub against the fiberglass whenever the tide is higher even with using
the chocks. Definitely a reason to change how my lines are set.

Thinking about it, with the chocks set inside and lower than the toe rail,
I'm not sure how much it would prevent the line from rubbing against the toe
rail unless your lines are always tied higher than your boat. If that's the
case it doesn't seem like they would rub against anything with or without
chocks.

Fortunately my fiberglass/gelcoat is so old and worn that I haven't noticed
any damage yet.

Thanks for the advice!

Lee
