[Rhodes22-list] Bimini

I am going to install a bimini soon and wondered if anyone has attached it to
the forward portion of the stern rail instead of on the genoa tracks?  When
not in use, could it rest upright against the backstays rather than forward
on the cabin top?   Our Rhodes is still under it's winter cover.   Thanks
