Congratulatons Lee on your recycled recyle and thanks for pictures. I sail those waters (out of the Magothy) on a friend's boat whenever I get the chance. Enjoy the season ahead on your like new boat. Joe Riley s/v Second Wind Athens, GA

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Boat Finally Repaired!

I nearly totaled my boat over Memorial Day weekend:

It took some time but I finally got her back on Wednesday. Extremely
pleased with the fiberglass repairs. To my untrained eye I can't tell it
was ever damaged. To disguise the repairs they had to clean and deoxidate
(is that a word?) the whole boat. If I'd replace the rubrails she'd look
like Stan recycled her again.

Sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s, 9 knot winds. It's quite a haul from
Annapolis around the north end of Kent Island and back down to my marina
near Kent Narrows, so I had planned on motoring most of the way. No need.
Motored in and out of the marinas but was able to sail the remaining five
hours all the way back home. One long comfortable slow broad reach north
and then two short flying close reach tacks south. I was actually going
around 4 knots the whole way but I felt like I was flying on those close
reaches. After being without my baby for almost an entire year this had to
have qualified as one of my top ten sails.

I'm no photographer but I thought I'd snap some photos along the way.
Leaving Annapolis I ran into this riverboat. With my sailing history I
guess I shouldn't use the term "ran into:"

I raced this guy to the bridge. Fortunately I had about a 10-mile head
start:

Rounding Love Point, the north end of Kent Island:

I don't know if this counted as a cruise since it wasn't much longer than
most of my daysails. I didn't spend the night nor do any cooking, but I did
doze off a few times and had more than my daily allowance of carbs in the
form of Yuenglings.

It's good to be back.
