Joe,
I believe you have damaged the centerboard hardware, primarily the pin that 
 holds it in place or the track it rides in. If you try to manually pull 
the  centerboard down, you may end up with the whole thing in your hands. Time 
to put  her on the trailer and remove the cap and check for damage.

We launched in April, floated her off the  trailer, and as my buddy pulled 
the boat clear, the centerboard was caught  between the guide boards and the 
bunk, leaving her tilted to port and hung up  on the trailer.  My buddy got 
aboard, a backed into the water to get it  floating, and he pulled up the 
centerboard.  There would have been some  sideways pressure on the 
centerboard, I'm sure. I think it worked OK after  that(that day).  I noticed the 
trouble a couple of weeks  ago.
