[Rhodes22-list] Trouble on "Ranch Tohatsu"

Mike:

Agreed on the non-ethanol high octane.  I have found a place that sells basically aviation gas at 98 octane, no ethanol.  This may be my solution. When I lived in NC a couple of years ago, my marina sold 93 w/o ethanol.  I never had a problem.  Time to switch, I think.

Otherwise the oil drowns the float bowl.  Again, I share that the stalling problems ended when I used a higher octane fuel, without the 10% mix if you can find it. Since I did this I have not spent any time or money on mechanics and fooling around with the engine.

Apparently, this motor misbehaves if there is even a smidgen too much oil in the crankcase. It sets up bad pressure vibe thing which effect the carb's performance.  I am currently in an exercise to get mine to idle properly.  After reading of this issue, I remembered NOT being too exact when filling the oil this spring.  Friday, I will be giving the OB a good inspection for oil level.  I have already taken off the carb and soaked it.  Friday will possibly be a watershed (or oilshed) moment.
