Hi all,

Thank you for your thoughts and advice on bilge pumps. I have purchased the Supersub Smart 650 from Whale Pumps (650 gallons per hour & automatic activation). It will fit nicely in the bilge space and it has received good reviews. Practical Sailor likes it. It fits in my budget (approx: $70).

I plan to attach it to one of the wooden stringers in the bilge area forward of the keel/centerboard and run a hose up to the thru-hull used by the sink. I'm not sure how I will connect it with the sink drain. I'll research that some more & let you know what I decide.

I plan to connect it directly to the battery (which is below the sink on my Rhodes) and use an in-line fuse. I might add a switch for manual over-ride, but that is something else I need to research and think about.
