The porta potty I've got is secured to the boat and has a pump out cap built
onto it Graham. Check out the 'MSD' models shown at

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Holding and water tanks

My boat has not had an original water tank since I bought it and the old
metal holding tank at the aft of the v-birth has rusted through and needs
to be replaced. .

Can anyone tell me:

- where the water tank is located now and what size it is?

- If they have replaced the holding tank, where did they get the new
one? Are they all custom made or will any off-the-shelf tanks fit?

I have considered, and would actually prefer, to go the porta-potti route as
I dock my boat at my home, my trips are all day trips so the head is used
very infrequently and sometime not at all in a season, and going to the
marina for a pump out is a pain. Being able to take the tank into the hose
to flush would be ideal. The problem is that I keep my boat on lake Ontario
and provincial regulations require a fixed head and holding tank with
pump-out capabilities. As I would only need to empty the tank in the fall, I
am wondering if anyone has worked out an arrangement that would meet the
environmental requirements but also allow for the relatively easy removal
of the "permanent" porta-potti tank annually for flushing and without
leaking in the process?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Graham
