Ric,
My standard main boat had mast mounted bail

with a block
https://www.dwyermast.com/families.asp?cat1ID=70&cat1Name=Blocks

though which my topping lift was run.  I had a hank on jib, so my two halyards were used for my main and jib.  Just one possibility. - rob

You reply left me with one question though.
How does the UPS furl, is on a roller furler?
I only have a main halyard (old style main) and the topping lift, a kind of universal halyard. Which is what Charles might be referring to as his "separate" halyard.
You answered the jib luff question when you wrote "furling tube". Your headsail is not easily changed.
OK List - Can anyone tell me how to add a halyard to the masthead without changing the casting?
II would like to have the main, the topping lift and then a spare halyard.
I have a 175% jib that needs some work.
I'd rather buy a 130 and a UPS than spend the money on the 175% that is overpowered about 90% of the time in my area.
Ideally, I'd like a modern roller furler with a luff groove so I can change headsails.
A smaller jib and UPS sail would be perfect.
