[Rhodes22-list] Synthetic teak

I have started to use synthetic wood for trim pieces and for cabin top rails but not for anything structural like hand rails. I seriously doubt that this material has the strength for such a critical safety  feature that could sustain serious forces. Am I being overly cautious about that?

I've used a small piece of Trex here and there.   Looks good.   I've also
seen trex used to make new grab rails...  Also looked good.   As I replace
wood pieces on my boat, it will all be trex.   No painting, no rot.....
looks good.... naturally anti-slip.... no brainer.
