For my new Rhodes 22 this past September, I bought a 8 hp Mercury long shaft
because it was the smallest motor I could get with both the shift and
throttle on the tiller handle. That was the feature Stan recommended I look
for (although he didn't recommend a particular motor) and I'm very glad I
did that. Having electric start and shift on the handle makes operating the
motor on this boat much easier.  I bought from Cumberland Watersports and
had the motor shipped to GB. Thought I got a good deal from them.
